so this is the new movie out today about the flight that crashed in PA instead of its supposed target, the White House (or the Capitol). Is anyone planning on seeing it? Does anybody think its too soon? What about the fact there have already been 2 tv movies about it?
I personally don't see the point, I mean so much of what happened with this plane isn't known by the public and this movie is unable to be a completely honest depiction, because until the government releases the flight recorders we won't know what went down (and even then, its sure not to capture everything involved). There are so many myths that we are force fed and I have a feeling this whole "let's roll" business is yet another...
One thing that intrigues me about this movie is that some people who actually lived through the event, such as the man in charge of the air traffic control center, play themselves in this movie. And most of the people on the plane are being played by fairly unknown actors and actresses to add to the realism. I mean, no one would want to see popular actors and actresses being "killed" so they have unknowns playing the victims. I think I'll go see it if I can find someone to go with me.
I'm definitely curious about it. On one hand I think it's probably a bit too much "our every day American hero" type of movie but if it's not too full of heroism this could actually be a very thrilling movie especially since this is the first and hopefully only major disaster of our times (in the USA that is) and having lived through those events myself (well I lived approximately 60 miles from ground zero and we got a lot of the victims) and remembering the day vividly I think it'll be quite strange to actually see what happened, so, yeah, I'm definitely going to see the movie with my fiance.
We shall report once we've done so to those who are interested.
cheers
